Following weeks of intense bombardment, Russian troops are leaving Kharkiv, the 2nd largest city in Ukraine. It marks yet another military defeat for Moscow. On Saturday, the Ukrainian military declared that the Russians were retreating from Kharkiv and concentrating on securing supply lines. Russian forces have been pushed back from the area of Kharkiv, which was a significant objective for Moscow’s forces.
The US-based research tank institute supported the evaluation for the study of war. It said that Russian units had tried to defend terrain against counterattacking Ukraine forces during the last few days despite a few exceptions. Thus, it would seem that Ukraine prevailed in the Kharkiv Battle. Like how they handled Russian forces aiming to conquer Kyiv, Ukrainian forces kept Russian troops from approaching Kharkiv and eventually drove them out of the area.
In his daily video message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the achievement. He declared that the progressive liberation of Kharkiv indicates that they intended not to leave anybody to the enemy. The heavy bombardment has been going on for weeks in Kharkiv, close to the Russian border. Early in the conflict, when Moscow sought to seize and keep significant towns, the leading Russian cities with a pre-war population of 1.4 million were an essential military priority.
